MSMA CHICAGO CHAPTER MAIL CENTER OF THE YEAR AWARD
 

The Mail Center of the Year Award recognizes an entire member mail center for their outstanding contributions to the profitability of their company and our industry. The areas that will be evaluated and considered will be those of employee engagement, new technology, improving current operating procedures and processes and cost reductions. All in-house facilities offering mailing services are eligible for nomination. The emphasis of this award is focused on the entire mail center staff's contribution as opposed to focusing on individual effort.

CRITERIA:

EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT:

  •  Describe departmental and firm-wide initiatives to improve workplace environment

NEW TECHNOLOGY
  • Provide major equipment inventory of center with an emphasis on new acquired equipment, then discuss in detail the impact this had on the department and corporation as a whole

  • Describe the role of the manager and staff members of the department

PROCESS & OPERATIONAL PROCEDURE IMPROVEMENTS
  • Describe improvements over former processes

  • Describe inter- and intra-departmental processes implemented by mail center

COST REDUCTION
  • Describe any initiatives or countermeasures developed to reduce departmental and corporate costs

INDUSTRY AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
  • Describe any contributions to our industry, education and the community in general.

The Mail Center Manger of the Year Award recognizes a manager for outstanding contribution made within their managerial area of responsibility that includes operational innovations and cost reductions that improved corporate profitability and focused initiatives that improved departmental & firm-wide employee/workplace environment.  Consideration will also be given to contribution made within their industry and community during the past year. The recipient of this award is recognized by their peers who deem them worthy of being honored for his/her professional accomplishments and for sharing their experiences with others.

CRITERIA:

OPERATIONAL INNOVATION AND COST REDUCTION:

  • Describe technological innovations implemented by manager that improved productivity and/or positively impacted profitability

  • Describe any initiatives or countermeasures developed  & implemented to reduce departmental and corporate costs

EMPLOYEE / WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT
  • Describe manager initiatives to improve quality of life in the workplace environment

NOTABLE CONTRIBUTIONS TO INDUSTRY AND COMMUNITY
  • Describe personal contributions made within the industry in an effort to share and or educate others for the betterment of the industry as a whole. Examples are hosting educational forums and speaker participation. Describe any additional community involvement.
